Status of shallow geothermal energy in future

At  present, the human being is facing the problems of serious global energy  crisis, decreasing potential reservations, increasing needs for energy sources  and high price. Under the trend of reconstruction of energy resources supply,  it is necessary to save buildings energies. One of significant ways is to  reduce the non regenerative resource such as petroleum and natural gas in order  to develop substantially.

Building  energy consumption accounts for one third of the general energy consumption and  heating cost most energy. Some western developed countries put much importance  on the buildings energy saving by implementing a serious of policies to develop  energy-saving constructions. In China,  low energy-consuming constructions cost will be 10% higher than that of common  ones. However, the operational cost will be saved by 60% by saving energy and  efficient integration. One of the most important technologies to reach the goal  is heating , cooling and supplying daily hot water with the full use of shallow  geothermal energy, because the core concept of circulative economy,  energy-saving society and sustainable development is to utilize energies  according to grades.

In  North China, the heating energy cost 65 % of  buildings energy consumption, even 90% in some areas. Therefore, key to raise  the energy utilization ratio is to make use of geothermal energy as the first  choice alternation of heating and cooling system technology. To reach this  goal, we need to learn from successes of western developed countries to develop  buildings energy saving technologies and makes energy saving policies.

Shallow  geothermal energy is other form of solar energy formed by absorption of sunshine  reflection. The system can regulate the energies to guarantee the stable  temperature of living environment of human being. It features in rich reservation,  rapid regeneration, wide distribution, convenient collection and stable temperature  which closes to the indoors temperature (20 degrees in winter and 26 degrees in  summer). Therefore, the system is perfect to be used as energy supplier of  heating, cooling and daily hot water.

Shallow  geothermal energy cooling and heating system has been developed for a long  time. Especially innovation in domestic and international market brought by  single well supplying and returning water collection technology put the  development of geothermal energy to a brand new stage. Seven years of technical  development and practice opened new way to geothermal energy utilization.

Geothermal  energy cooling and heating system only costs few of electricity power to save  the non-regenerative energy such as coal, petroleum and natural gas. It brings  no pollution to the environment, but the building cost only equals to the cost  of traditional central air conditioning system. Without the government subsidy,  the operational cost is lower than the cost of heating by natural gas, gas and electrical  power and same as cost of heating with coal. It is green, innovative, effective  and beneficial cooling and heating systems of new-type constructions.

 Our government has been enacting policies and  regulations to promote the geothermal energy heating and cooling system.  Therefore, shallow geothermal energy as new regenerative energy will become the  major source of heating and cooling system with time passing. The promotion and  wide utilization will undoubtedly support the sustainable development, welfare  and environment protection.
